Baby

No, I'm not pregnant, but I am trying to get ready for a baby.  :)

What are some things you did to get ready?  Did you really try to prepare your body?

Brandon's biggest thing with me is my eating habits, which I agree.  They aren't the best, but they aren't HORRIBLE.  What are some great, EASY recipes that will help me get ready for pregnancy.  I want to make sure that I am able to give my future child the best start.

  1. My one piece of advice: Come off of birth control (if you're taking it) at least 3 months before you want to start trying and use something else to prevent pregnancy. Seriously...message me if you want more info, but it's a pain in the butt coming off!

As far as good food: Just try to get a little of everything throughout the day: fruits, vegetables, bread, meat, calcium. I do cook a lot, but in the morning and at lunch is mainly when I get my fruits and calcium.

    Anyway, good luck! :)

    1. I just stopped taking it. I'm hoping it doesn't kill me as I've been on it so much of my life for more reasons than just not getting pregnant. I'm nervous about it but the end results will be worth it. :)

Good for you that you cook! I can't stand it! Sad, I know, but true. It's just something I don't like taking the time to do, but I know it's something I need to do. :-/

    2. Well, maybe it won't be bad for you, but I've been off of it for 6 months and my body will not work right! I finally caved and talked to my doctor. He gave me some stuff to hopefully jump start my body to get back on track. We'll see how that goes now! I didn't have a lot of other side effects - just that my body won't do what it's supposed to (which is annoying). Hopefully you're in the majority of women who are able to come off and be just fine! :)

    3. Oh, and it is sometimes hard to cook, especially when you're busy - you just have to find recipes and easy stuff that works for you; it's all about what you like and are able to do. :)

  2. I don't have a specific recipe that is good, but when I need to get motivated to cook or eat healthy... or just not snack to death... I look at a couple of websites.

    Try: www.ourbestbites.com

It's got some good recipes that will get you cooking and eating more balanced meals.

And I think Pintrest can help with all their pictures of food and links to recipes.

I usually try to make a menu plan for a week/2 weeks so I can shop for the span of the menu and then there's no "What's for dinner" question everyday. or having to go to the store all the time for the ingredients.

    Good luck!

  3. Fun! Start taking your prenatal vitamins now. My doctor told me to take them before during and after the entire time I plan on having kids. :) I'm excited for the day that you do get pregnant! :) Also, from experience, lots of stress can make it hard to get pregnant. It takes me almost a year to get pregnant and if you continue to worry and fret over it, it doesn't help. So just enjoy life and let things happen as they will. :) Also, check out this site:
